September 7th, 8th and 10th: “Roos Churchyard – Plants in Medicine, Folk-lore and Ecology”, on show between 2 pm and 4 pm on each of dates in All Saints Church, Roos. Entry is free of charge and there will be refreshments and displays of other local history and heritage features of Roos. This is part of a National event celebrating our English Heritage. The presentation has been put together by Peter Cook to promote the Society so please pop in and do your bit.
September 8th: Andy Mason will talk about the wildlife and heritage of Spurn. Discover the amazing stories of how wildlife has adapted since the 2013 tidal surge. We will look at how the management of Spurn has changed and the way people and wildlife can be catered for with careful access and interpretation. There will be a summary of the Communities along the Sand project and how it will be carried on as part of the Spurn Gateway.
October 13th: Martin Standley will present an illustrated talk on Yorkshire Wildlife. Martin photographs mainly birds and has some stunning shots from local sites.
November 10th: To be arranged. Possibly a presentation by a member of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust
December 8th: Members night; a series of 10 minute presentations by members.
